About
An action RPG in which the player embodies a Hunter who, after being transfused with the mysterious blood local to the city of Yharnam, sets off into a "night of the Hunt", an extended night in which Hunters may phase in and out of dream and reality in order to thin the outbreak of abominable beasts that plague the land and, for the more resilient and insightful Hunters, uncover the answers to the Hunt's many mysteries.

(10)Amazing game, unfortunately very hard to go back to because of the locked frame rate issue. #1 game on my remaster wishlist.

Perfect. First Souls game and the experience went like this: I couldn't beat Father Gascoine after almost two hours, so I uninstalled the game. But something had me itching to come back, maybe it was the beautiful gothic art or maybe my own stubbornness of wanting to complete something difficult. So I did, and I eventually beat him. Progressed at a good pace through the main story, started getting used to the combat, dodging, countering, and caring about my life - something I have never done before. The playthrough was going smoothly until I decided to start the DLC. The beginning was tough, but Ludwig... I spent 5 hours alone trying to defeat him until I did. And that fight was just amazing, the cutscene, the lore, the holy moonlight sword. Even though I struggled so much, I never wanted to stop playing. So much so that I did all the chalice dungeons, fought the Pthumerean Queen. Fought Orphan (who I didn't think was as hard as Ludwig), and finished the game. This is one of those games that I can see myself going back and replaying a few times. I will now have to check out other Souls games.

This wasnt my first experience in the Soulsbourne catalog but it was the first time I clicked with one and actually stuck with it til the very end and that set me on the path to playing almost every other one. My memory of this game is probably the same as many first time soulsbourne players: get stuck on a early boss for many hours after back to back tried only to finally step away for a day or two, coming back and finishing that boss the first or second try back (thanks Vicar Amelia), and really just continuing to chase that high again and again through this game and the rest. Love this game and what it did to my brain except for one little thing and thatd be the blood vial system being insanely punishing in a not fun way (though farming them down the street in central yarnham was fun for the first 3 or 4 times)

You’re telling me they made an HP Lovecraft souls game? It could have sucked and it would still be 10/10. Fortunately for us it is perfect.
