The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the first 3D open-world game in the Zelda series. Link can travel anywhere and be equipped with weapons and armor found throughout the world to grant him various bonuses. Unlike many games in the series, Breath of the Wild does not impose a specific order in which quests or dungeons must be completed. While the game still has environmental obstacles such as weather effects, inhospitable lands, or powerful enemies, many of them can be overcome using the right method. A lot of critics ranked Breath of the Wild as one of the best video games of all time.

Absolute masterpiece my favorite switch game of all times

There are a handful of memories I wish I could wipe from my mind to relive them for the first time again and one of those memories is how this game felt to play in the first 10 or so hours for the first time right after a midnight release for the Switch 1. TOTK is obviously a more feature packed game that in many ways is more fun, but BOTW being this visceral change from all that came before hit so differently. Discovering not only the hidden places and side quests in this game but the ideas themselves (getting struck by lightning for the first time because you had a metal shield on your back and learning to change when necessary) is such a rewarding feeling. Honestly might have to run this back soon

Freedom in its purest form. Hyrule is your playground, and the game rarely tells you how to solve a problem — it simply lets you figure it out. Exploring, experimenting, climbing, gliding… it’s an adventure that rewards curiosity.

I do not have enough words to explain how good this game is. Absolute masterpiece. The best "just go explore" game ever made. There are a few times in my life I can remember feel like overwhelmed by a game in a positive way in a single "WOW" moment, one of them is the moment you finally make it out of the tutorial area and really start to understand the scope of how big the game is. Absolute masterpiece that blew my mind well into my 20's when I thought there was no shot that a game could ever do anything so unexpected ever again.
